Wasim Akram a true legend, former Pakistan bowler, left arm short paced is considered to be a legend in the world of cricket. He is named ‘the sultan of swing’ due to his incredible ability to turn and swing the ball.

Wasim Akram’s tendency to hide the ball from the batsman was unique as he came to deliver one of his deadly in swings. Wasim Akram’s main weapon in bowling was his incredible ability to swing the ball whenever and wherever he pleased.

Along with being the master at his craft, he was actually a good batsman as well. Akram was a pretty good all rounder and he has made considerable contributions as an attacking left handed batsman.

Wasim Akram was born in Lahore, Pakistan on June 3rd, 1966. He was 18 when he made his first class cricket debut and his test debut in 1985 after just only one season of first class cricket.

This marked the beginning of his 20 year career as one of the best fast bowlers in the world. Wasim Akram a true legend.

Wasim Akram was a very versatile cricketer; he had the distinction of playing 104 test matches in which he took 104 test wickets. Wasim Akram was the mainstay of the Pakistan attacking bowling line up.

He was the first amongst fast bowlers to reach the 400 and 500 one day international wickets mark from only 356 one day internationals. His economy rate was a mere 3.89 which accompanied his incredible fast bowling strike. As a batsman Wasim Akram made a total of 3717 ODI runs at a fair average of 16.52.

Furthering his exceptional first class career in cricket Wasim Akram also used to play country cricket and he had a long lasting stretch with Lancashire in the English County. During the very last stages of his career he also played for Hampshire but that was for a brief period of time before he retired.

Wasim Akram played international cricket till the age of 36 which was considered to be a rarity in the youth dominated team of Pakistan. The former captain was also the 1993 Wisden Cricketer of the Year.

Many cricketers and fans all around the world believe that Wasim Akram was by far the greatest left arm fast bowler who ever walked stepped forth on this planet. Wasim Akram a true legend, a true master and a loving father.
