Salam Wasim Bhai, If you could find out the person who searched the keyword “Wasim Akram” the most on Google it would probably be me. I am a die-heart fan of yours since early 90s (my childhood days) and I used to watch each and every delivery of yours. In my view, you are the greatest fast bowler of all time, no one comes close. You were the cricketer of the nineties. I stopped watching cricket after you retired which in my view was the end of a golden era of Pakistani cricket. I still follow each and every news related to you. I wish you a very happy birthday, may you have many more. Best Wishes Always!

Hello Wasim, My name is Kushal and I have been a huge fan of you. I am an Indian. Though I did not like you taking Sachin out, I always prayed that in every match, you grab a handful, and you always lived up to my expectations. I am just speechless when it comes to your skills to handle old ball and to my surprise, you mentioned about enjoying bowling with old ball. This website and your efforts to reach to mass through social media are commendable. It is such a humble gesture from a legend like you to open your heart and your skillset for the improvement of the game. You are a great server and a great human being. You will always be in our heart and in our prayers. May god bless you and give you more strength to reach new heights in your life. Happy Birthday.
~ Kushal

Hi Wasim! I have been one of your greatest fan from India. Apart from the 1000-odd international wickets, it’s amazing that you have almost 2000 first-class wickets on pakistani soil. We all know that wickets in this part of the world are not pacy and with a variable bounce. Therfore it’s extremely difficult to generate pace and swing the bowl either way. Nobody could have ever achieved this extraordinary feat in the sub-continent except Wasim Akram. Hats off to you my dear for I have seen you taking wickets at your will since 1985 at Lahore, Karachi, Sharjah, Mumbai, Chennai, Delhi, Colombo, Lord’s, Old Trafford, Sydney, Melbourne, Johannesberg, Jamica, Barbados, Wellington, tumbling the opposition and winning the matches single-handedly! Even Imran Khan was mesmerised by your lethal bowling action! Accolades continue to pour frm across the globe to salute one of the greatest bowler the world has ever seen! Even Wisden could not help declare you as the greatest bowler ever! Such was your mastery over swing that you could keep the batsmen guessing by vicious in-cutters, beautiful out-swingers, late-swing movement after leaving the bat, unplayable bouncers, change of pace, swinging yorkers, perhaps the only bowler who could bowl six different bowls in an over! Ask Ponting, Sachin, Lara, Richards, Steve Waugh, Mark Waugh, Gilchrist, Jayasuriya, Robert Croft, Allan Border, Dean Jones, Geoff Marsh, David Boon, Paul Collingwood, Mahela Jayawardena, Bill Athey, David Gover, Sir ian Botham, Imran Khan, Inzamum-ul-haq, Javed Miandad, Salim Malik, Justin Langer, Mathew Hayden, Carl Hooper, Desmond haynes, Gordon Greenidge, Richie Richardson, Allan Lamb, Marcus Trescothick as to who is the greatest bowler on earth and they all will be unanimous in proclaiming only one name and that is WASIM AKRAM! That sums up the legacy of one of finest bowlers cricket has ever produced! Pity that India, a country of 100 millions cannot produce a bowler of his ability! Let us salute this great lover and ambassador of cricket who will turn 46 on 03-JUN-2012! I love you wasim!

Happy Birthday to the Sultan of Swing, the Greatest bowler the world has ever seen, I will run out of superlatives if I start praising your bowling ability, let it be swing or seam, bouncers or yorkers or be it about swinging the ball in the air, the one word that best describes you is Perfection. And your charisma on and off the field the way you carried the team and always backed youngsters will always be remembered. I still spend hours and hours watching you videos of you destroying batsmen around the world with craft and guile, the sight of seeing you running in to bowl with your flawless action is itched in my mind like no other. Wasim bhai undoubtedly you have inspired a whole generation of fast bowlers in the sub-continent, it would be fair to say that you are the bowling God of the sub-continent, cricket lovers here worship you like anything. May Allah bless you with loads of success in whatever you do we are forever grateful to be born in an age where we got the chance to see you bowl. Once again, Happy Birthday Wasim Bhai. One of your millions & millions of fan.

Dear Wasim Bhai, As I collect my thoughts to write this short note, it almost seems that I know you in person. I have been your most ardent fan (I know it sounds clichéd, everyone says the same) since the late 80s. Most of my favourite memories in cricket involve you. Here are a few in no particular order
– You hitting a six to win against the west indies in sharjah
– The 92 final..when you talked to yourself head lowered while batting with inzi and then the 2 magic wickets. Ian Botham still feels he didn’t nick it..but he did!
– You bowling to australia at headingley in worldcup ’99. especially getting gilly and bevan..i know you hated bowling to them 😉
– your captaincy and your bowling at the eden gardens in ’99. I was at the stadium all 4 days till cops were called to evacuate the stands
– you going through dravid’s defence in the chennai test…you set him up with the previous 2 deliveries!
– croft given not out! i hope you forgave the umpire, he was as clueless as the batsman 😉
– your contribution to spin bowling through saqlain (you probably were always the force behind him)
– the number of times you got wickets in consecutive balls
– the tri-series win in australia…the magical spell in the final to chanderpaul and hooper
It has been almost 10 years since you retired and my favourite pastime is still watching your legendary spells over the net. Hope to meet you in person someday. Also desperately hoping that you will find time to respond to my email. Your fan for life.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY to you Sir.Your greatest fan from across the border.
~ Sumant

HAPPY BIRTHDAY WASIM BHAI…Wish you a very awesome birthday.. May Allah bless his blessing upon you.. And provide you more opportunities to lighten the name of Pakistan.
A die-hard fan of your bowling <3
